Some days I just have this feeling that I’m completely empty, that I have nothing to offer, that life is just this dry dessert. I think we all go through times like this, and so this song is my attempt to verbalize that feeling. It also is influenced by the Psalms, where king David cries out to God coming from a place of turmoil and confusion. It’s a cry out to God for help through the dark and dry places that we seem so powerless against.
